Number 808 of the Givenchy spring/summer 1953 collection, named ‘Inez De Castro’. A white, fitted, strapless ballgown with a detatchable train that falls from waist to floor in a spray of organdy, embroidered with a floral design of black silk thread and jet beads on the bodice, skirt and train. It would mark the beginning of one of fashion’s most iconic relationships.
